PASMUN

The world is a dire place. Wars, tension, hatred! I can't imagine the last time I woke up to the news and read some positive political development. Whether it is the Middle East, Russia, Taiwan or even our dear Mexico, wherever we look chaos can be found.

The International Response? Look away. Burn down the bridges that have proved that international cooperation is the only way we can safeguard our planet's safety. The mighty UN now stands lonely, as some of its major allies withdraw from the comissions and committees they themselves created to keep "world peace and progress". What kind of progress is this?

PASMUN 2026 stands as protest, a complete rejection of the current geopolitical landscape. When our governors and leaders who are supposed to protect us abandon us, it is our responsibility to stand for those things we are truly passionate about. This year's slogan "Unified we thrive" reflects this idea. International Cooperation shouldn't be a utopia, but rather the organic result of the actions that we take each day. Similarly, our logo is the visual representation of our duty of bridging those apart together.

This year's topics are not only thought-provoking and challenging, they are empowering. Being Secretary General is the greatest honour of my life, and

I want to empower you to believe that we can all bring the world together once more.
